About Roo
On a run one day, where I do my best thinking, it came to me... Roo Active. I didn’t fully have the name yet, but I knew it would include Roo. That wasn’t the most important part though. The important part was the message, the idea, the dream. A dream where all girls feel strong and confident, living in a world where they love, embrace, and understand the importance of movement.
Once I had the dream, I knew I had to keep running to figure out the rest, how to build something around it. T-shirts and sweatshirts felt like a natural first step. Besides being the comfy girl, obsessed with athleisurewear and living in sweats, I’m also the girl who grew up loving sports, and honestly, loving the t-shirts that came with them. My sport t-shirts always gave me a sense of pride and confidence. I was proud to wear them.
To this day, I still have boxes of those shirts. Boxes filled with reminders of the sports I played, the memories I made, and the lessons I learned. The same lessons I want my daughter, Riley Roo, and all other girls to learn. But more than just the lessons, I want this brand to help instill a sense of confidence and strength.
I want Roo Active to encourage movement, because when we move our bodies, so many incredible things happen. We learn to fuel our bodies with energy, we become stronger, we build confidence, we get the endorphins flowing, and we simply feel good. Through movement, confidence is gained and self-esteem can grow.
And while this brand may have started with young girls in mind, it is truly for all women. For all the women who need that extra boost. My goal for Roo Active is that every time someone puts something on from Roo, they feel just a little stronger, a little more empowered, and a little more confident.
We all have that strength within us. Roo is here to help bring it out, to remind us to let our light shine.
We are all amazing in our own ways. Let’s keep moving, together.
